Data Link.
Data Link B consists of a small waterproof container clearly labeled with the Data Link Emergency logo, in which have been placed a completed and folded information sheet containing details of any medical condition together with any medication you are taking. There is also place for details of the next of kin. The container is kept in the household fridge as this is the single most common and easy to find item in the average household. (The contents of your refrigerator are the most likely to survive a fire too)
To indicate that Data Link B information is available, a label is fixed to the inside of the front door, in a position, which cannot be seen, from the outside of the house. A second label is placed on the refrigerator door, with the third label stuck onto the container itself. All emergency services will look for the label whenever they have to effect an entry into a property.
Data Link is probably of most interest to the infirm and/or elderly but is intended to cover everybody regardless of their age group - emergencies know no age boundary. However, in the first instance we are concentrating on the more vulnerable because of their age, infirmity or disability and then, hopefully, with more funding, widening the field.
If you wish to obtain a Data Link B container and labels, please contact your Neighbourhood Watch street coordinator.
