Footway Trips.

Although pavements are designed to last, the surfaces crack and wear out during the course of time. They are also damaged when cars and lorries are parked on them and when public utilities such as the gas and electricity companies, dig them up. Use the link & the 'Footway Trips' form at West Sussex County Council so they can be reported & repaired.

Flooding.

The drains at the sides of the roads are the County Council's responsibility to maintain. Although the drains are periodically cleaned, they can still become blocked or covered with leaves and cause flooding on the road.
Use the form at West Sussex County Council to inform WSCC about any drains that appear to be blocked or overflowing.

Overgrown Vegetation.

Many trees and hedgerows next to the highway stand on private land or mark the boundary of private property. In such cases, it is the responsibility of the landowner or householder to properly maintain them. However, if a hedge or tree is affecting your safe passage as a pedestrian or road user, let WSCC know about the problem and where to find it. Go to West Sussex County Council and use the form to report it.

The Parish council will also deal with this problem.  You can deal with it in this way by reporting the problem to Ann Pearce, the parish clerk, at Donningtonpc1(at)aol.com. or by telephoning her on 01243 781563.

Fly Tipping.

West Sussex is one of the nicest parts of the country but is often spoilt by illegal dumping of rubbish and general building rubble. This can create serious problems for both drainage and the environment as well as being very costly to remove using your Council Tax. Go to West Sussex County Council and use the form to report it.
