Roundabout Work and Road Safety Problems

Dear Alan,

At our Parish Council meeting on 12 Sept the members were both very concerned and upset that no one had seen fit to inform the PC as to the work being done to "our” roundabout. Many local residents have been making enquiries but we have had no information to give. Unlike many of your inner city issues elsewhere, anything to do with roads locally quite rightly sends our pulses soaring out here in Donnington especially as we have been consulted on all the major road projects.

Could you please, as a matter of some urgency therefore, find out what exactly is going on the roundabout? There are many concerns, for example, about it being enlarged and possibly becoming more dangerous than it already is.

Secondly, why is work being done now when perhaps the whole junction is to be reconfigured under the A27 improvements scheme in the not too distant future?

Grateful if you could answer these questions so we can inform local residents on our web site and notice boards.
