Saskia Heasman
After a career in Adult and Continuing Education and as Head of Languages in a Further Education College in the East Midlands, I moved to Donnington with my husband, Chris, (Chairman of the Parish Council) in 1996. Since then, I have taught part-time in adult education classes and at Ford Prison, and more recently have become Clerk to Birdham and West Itchenor Parish Councils and Apuldram Parish Meeting. Inevitably this means that I have developed an interest in all aspects of Parish work.
I first became involved in Donnington matters when I joined the Millennium Map working party, and led the history group, which eventually wrote the book "Donnington, a Short History" as a result of the material which we uncovered.
Outside work my interests lie in history, languages, needlecrafts and walking. I walk the streets of Donnington daily with our dog, and keep an eye open for anything of interest to the Council.
