Strides Field Development
You may have seen the start of works at Strides Field in Birdham Road. These are preparatory to the development of this site which the Parish Council has managed to stave off for many years, but which now has full planning permission. Tree Preservation Orders are in force for most of the larger trees. If you see large trees being taken down, please contact the Enforcement Officer at Chichester District Council,

The developers now have planning permission for the erection of 6 one bedroom flats, 6 two bedroom houses and 36 three bedroom houses. The plans can be inspected at the Chichester District Council Offices in East Pallant House, Chichester quoting reference D/04/03697/REM. The Parish Council has succeeded in having a number of conditions attached to the planning approval which should help to minimise the impact of the building work on local residents. At present we do not know when the development will start. This is up to the developers and may depend on the state of the housing market.
